ABOUT THE AWARDS

The Ohio Minority Supplier Development Council's (OMSDC) 2021 Annual Awards Gala on November 19th will recognize Corporations and individuals that have an outstanding record of diversity participation with Minority-Owned businesses in the Ohio region. Corporation award nominations are now being accepted through the form  below. 

AWARDS ELIGIBILITY
CORPORATE AWARDS

  • All nominees must be an OMSDC Corporate member, or in the case of the individual awards, employees of OMSDC Corporate members.
  • Only NMSDC-certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) may submit a nomination. All 2020 awards winners ARE eligible for the same award category in 2021. 
  • Only one nomination may be submitted per category.
  • All nominations must be submitted by Sept 3rd, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.

CATHY C. MOCK LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

  • Minimum 10 years of dedicated service in SDI (Supplier Diversity and Inclusion) space
  • Strong Advocate and Promoter of minority business 
  • Proven mentor and Developer of MBEs and the MBE ecosystem
  • Supporter and Builder of the local minority communities in Ohio
  • Ardent supporter of OMSDC
  • All nominations must be submitted by Sept 3rd, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.

AWARDS PROCESS
Nominees will be notified via phone and email and will be sent an application. Those nominees that submit applications will have them reviewed and scored based on a pre-determined set of criteria. The results will be tabulated and the winners announced at the November 19th Annual Awards Gala being held Virtually. AWARDS TO BE PRESENTED

Corporation of the Year
The Corporation of the Year is one that displays strong support for MBEs, and in most cases, has had a strong impact increasing procurement opportunities for the MBEs in Ohio.

  • Class 1 - Annual Sales less than $3 billion
  • Class 2 - Annual Sales between $3 billion and $11.9 billion
  • Class 3 - Annual Sales between $12 billion and $29.9 billion
  • Class 4 - Annual Sales greater than or equal to $30 billion


Buyer of the Year
The Buyer of the Year is a professional in a purchasing role within a corporate member organization of the Ohio MSDC, and is characterized by outstanding and extraordinary efforts in developing minority business opportunities within their company.
 

Advocate of the Year
The Advocate of the Year is a team member of an Ohio MSDC corporate organization that has contributed to the expansion of minority business opportunities within the organization. Their extraordinary efforts and initiative to promote long term success for MBEs provides outstanding services to the Council, its goals, programs, and events.
